Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon, RMUTP, has a long and prestigious history as an educational institution specializing in professional fields. It was previously part of Rajamangala University of Technology, which encompassed more than 35 campuses nationwide, focusing on vocational education. With the change in status from an institute to a university in the year 2005 B.E., the campuses were reorganized into 9 universities, and one of the independent universities is Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon, Thewet Campus, was originally the area of Wang Rapi Phat, belonging to His Royal Highness Prince Aphiphaniyakorn Rapiphat, the son of His Majesty King Rama V, who graciously dedicated the space for Thai education. This area has a long history of continuous educational development. Prior to becoming a university, it was established as a vocational teacher college and has been in operation since 1948 until the present. It has since transformed into the Faculty of Industrial Education and the Faculty of Mass Communication Technology, under the Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon. Currently, the university has the Prince Aphiphaniyakorn Rapiphat Monument, dedicated to commemorating the benevolence of His Royal Highness Prince Aphiphaniyakorn, on which the annual Rapi Memorial Day is held.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

In the Bangkok Commercial Campus, the Faculty of Business Administration at RMUTP is located. It is an old and prestigious educational institution specializing in business administration, established since 1898. It is the first institution in Thailand dedicated to commerce. The campus is situated in the former palace of Admiral His Royal Highness Prince Aphiphaniyakorn, Grand Master of Chumphon District Udomsak (Wang Nang Leung), located on Phitsanulok Road, Dusit District, Bangkok.<\/p>

Wang Nang Leung has an approximate area of 11 acres and serves as the location for various buildings. It includes a grand residence that serves as the landmark of His Royal Highness, Prince Apakorn Kiatwong, from the Grand Palace Chumphon Udomsak District. The architectural style is similar to the Western-style Phra Thinang Boromphim on Mahachai Road. The two-story residence is made of concrete and is surrounded by four pavilions.<\/p>

The “Ruen Mor Phon” or Mor Phon House is a two-story wooden house located in the area of Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon (RMUTP) in Bangkok. Originally owned by Momien Aphakorn at Ayutthaya, the house features a Neo-Classical architectural style with modifications to adapt to the hot climate of the region by using wood as the main material. This type of house became more popular during the reign of King Chulalongkorn (Rama V).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The historical background of Admiral His Royal Highness Prince Aphiphaniyakorn, the Grand Master of Chumphon District Udomsak, who owned the house and was the owner of the medical manuscript, is associated with the Faculty of Liberal Arts at the Bangkok Commercial Campus.<\/p>

For those interested in visiting the Mor Phon House Museum, they can contact the Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Arts, located on the 1st floor of Building 1, RMUTP, Bangkok Commercial Campus. The museum is open for visits during office hours.<\/p>

On December 19, 1976, His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, Rama IX, unveiled the monument of Admiral His Royal Highness Prince Aphiphaniyakorn, the Grand Master of Chumphon District Udomsak. The monument was erected in order to serve as a unifying symbol for the community RMUTP and to foster a sense of unity among its members.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Chotiwet Campus, Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon, originated from the land donated by Khun Taetuan Chotiwet, who was a traditional medicine practitioner. He donated the area near Wat Thewarat Kunchorn Worawihan and wooden houses. Initially, the Chotiwet School of Vocational Education was established in 1938, and it was later upgraded to Chotiwet College in 1974. In 1988, it was renamed Chotiwet Institute of Technology and Vocational Education, and in 1988, it became Chotiwet Institute of Technology and Vocational Education, Chotiwet Campus.<\/p>

In the year 1988, the campus was included in the group of regional institutes and later separated into nine universities, with one of them becoming “Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon.” In 2005, it was established as “Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon” as an independent university. Additionally, the Chotiwet Campus provides space for the preservation of artifacts such as pagodas, the Panya Building, a miniature model of Khun Taetuan, and a guardian deity shrine.<\/p>

In addition, North Bangkok Campus was originally established as North Bangkok Technical School and later transformed into North Bangkok Technical College. It was located in the northernmost part of Bangkok, adjacent to the Chao Phraya River and Nonthaburi Province. In the year 1988, it was graciously granted a new name by His Majesty, becoming “Rajamangala Institute of Technology Phra Nakhon,” North Bangkok Campus. The campus began offering undergraduate programs. In 2005, Rajamangala Institute of Technology Phra Nakhon, Phra Nakhon North Campus, was established as, Faculty of Engineering.<\/p>

Currently, at North Bangkok Campus, there is an exhibition hall showcasing the history of North Bangkok Technical College, managed by the Faculty of Engineering. Additionally, there is a statue commemorating Phra Wisutkamnok, placed in front of the Faculty of Engineering, serving as a memorial for the members of Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

“Chalong Khwan Sangkhit” is a long-standing tradition at Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon. It emerged from the music clubs of each campus, which were eventually merged into one, known as “RMUTP Band.” The driving force behind this initiative was Assistant Professor Kawinawut Klanpitoon, along with university administrators who have been supporting and nurturing the musical talents for many years. Since its establishment as a business administration campus, RMUTP has produced renowned musicians at the national level, such as Khun Ko Mister Zakeman, Khun Narikrajong, and Khun Kantamad. Notable artists and musicians, including Khun Winai Phanthurak, the National Artist, and Khun Tuey AF, are also alumni of the music program at RMUTP, or currently known as Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Prior to becoming the Chalong Khwan Sangkhit Band, the Thai music ensemble of RMUTP had performed both locally and internationally, with strong support from the university administration. In 2018, the Thai music ensemble of RMUTP came together to perform at a retirement event, and on that day, Assoc. Prof. Supattra Kosaiyakanon, the university president at that time, named the ensemble “Chalong Khwan Sangkhit.” The name was derived from the university’s emblematic flower, the Chalor Kwan Lotus, which is considered a symbol of good luck.
