The Faculty of Business Administration, Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon, is located at the Phra Nakhon Commercial Campus,an educational institution with a rich history of over 117 years in commerce. The Faculty of Business Administration was officially established under the Royal Gazette announcement on November 27, 2006, following the restructuring of the Rajamangala Institute of Technology into nine Rajamangala Universities of Technology. Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon comprises five campuses: Thewet, Chotiwet, Phra Nakhon Commercial, Chumphon Khet Udomsak, and Northern Phra Nakhon. Established under the Rajamangala University of Technology Act B.E. 2548 (2005), the university operates under the Office of the Higher Education Commission, Ministry of Education, in alignment with the government’s educational reform policy to enhance national competitiveness, expand access to higher education, and increase flexibility in academic management.
The Faculty’s ultimate goal is to “Cultivate graduates to become leading entrepreneurs in the global business arena” under its vision “To produce professional graduates with quality and integrity, grounded in business technology” and philosophy “Develop graduates with virtue, keep pace with technology, and lead business administration to the global stage.” Guided by this vision and philosophy, the Faculty is committed to producing graduates who are competent practitioners with professional expertise, capable of achieving success in their careers with modern knowledge, strength, and competitiveness in all circumstances.
Currently, the Faculty of Business Administration offers programs at the vocational certificate, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels. Looking ahead, the Faculty plans to introduce international programs (by 2022), foster academic collaborations both domestically and internationally, facilitate faculty and student exchanges with overseas institutions, and strengthen academic-professional partnerships with enterprises. The Faculty also aims to enhance faculty qualifications, develop knowledge and innovation centers, expand research output, transfer technology, and create new bodies of knowledge—initiatives that form the foundation for enhancing institutional capability.
The spiritual center for the Phra Nakhon Commercial community, continuing to this day within the Faculty of Business Administration, is the monument of Admiral Prince Abhakara Kiartivongse, Prince of Chumphon. Revered and cherished by faculty members, alumni, and students of every generation, His Royal Highness is recognized as the Father of the Royal Thai Navy, a visionary leader who made invaluable contributions to the development of naval personnel and maritime knowledge in Thailand.
On December 19, 1976, His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great (Rama IX) graciously presided over the inauguration ceremony of the monument, located on the grounds of the former Wang Nang Loeng Palace — the original royal residence of the Prince of Chumphon. This site is not only of great historical value, but also stands as a symbol of pride and a lasting bond between the academic institution and the nation’s cultural and historical heritage.
Since then, the monument has become a unifying focal point for the Faculty of Business Administration’s personnel and students. It serves as the venue for important ceremonies, such as commemorations of the Prince of Chumphon’s passing, his birthday anniversary, and various tributes honoring his legacy, in expressions of loyalty and gratitude for his benevolence. Furthermore, it embodies the enduring values of loyalty, gratitude, and the commitment to carrying forward his vision for professional advancement in service to the nation.
